Was 2016 really that bad? (+Some mentions)

Everyone I see on here and other places of the internet say it was a bad year. I disagree. As far as life, 2013-2015 were the worst 3 years. If you knew as well as the friends I've had for years on other sites, you would know exactly why. It was about time I had a good year. Lots of things happened. I got my first phone, I got into EDM (now with like 400 songs in my playlist lol), I started my music hobby, I got into this great education (there's some cons on the school I'm going to, however), and I actually overcame a fear I had. I had lots of adventure, it was practically a rollercoaster. Now, in the mixed world of opinions, I'm sure there's many reasons why 2016 was bad. Celebrities dying, the election (please don't debate this in the comments everyone has their opinions), etc. Hopefully 2017 will be even better for everyone.

Of course, I've also enjoyed being on here this year. It's nice getting to know all of you. (@JK-FlipFlop, I swear I'm not copying off you on purpose I was going to do this anyway XD).

To @Agitat0r for helping me out at the beginning of being on this site and my music career. And having to put up with me when I was still going through rough times.

To @JK-FlipFlop for always giving me very constructive reviews on my work, and being a great person to talk to.

To @Troisnyx and @NekoMika for being very helpful moderators and answering my questions about this place and audio in general.

To @AzeXiR for being a nice friend to have.

To @LuckyLightTitan for being around to talk to, and being supportive of my work.

To @EDM364 for also being a helpful moderator and a person to discuss ideas with.

To @MysteriousPresence and @Zechnition for also helping me out with criticism.

To @RobertsV for being one of the few I know outside of Geometry Dash and a great friend.

To a specific couple of haters, you guys give me motivation to move on lol.

It's almost mesmerizing looking at this list knowing how many people I have to mention, it's really great getting to know all of you, again. There's one I didn't mention, and that's because I wasn't sure if they were going to be comfortable being mentioned. Same goes for you all. If you're not comfortable being on this post, there is an edit button lol. And if there are some I didn't mention, I'm sorry.

Here's to 2017, a hopefully better year even for those who thought it sucked.

The reason why my 2016 was the worse year is because, I have been depressed because I had friends turn against me, bully me, and stalk me a little. I was insulted a lot, they took the piss out of all my problems that others and I go. It put me down. I also lost a cat that I loved to bits this year, he was missing since July and never came back. I got into gambling on websites because I wanted good stuff to make me feel better. I also wanted money to buy stuff that I really wan't. So yeah, after all that, I got into some bad shit, started cutting. That's it. I don't know why I am posting this comment here, but may as well, because who cares?

Ah dude, that's gotta suck :( I've had my share of bullying and betrayal as well.
As a serious cat lover, seeing that makes me depressed. I almost lost my cat..
There's tons of things we all want, it's just I have to be more conscientious about my money. Otherwise I would've bought these super expensive headphones I want.
Well, hopefully it will get better.

Yeah it does suck, lots of stuff goes through my head sometimes, and sometimes makes me wanna end it all. But, I chin up and continue my life as I should, even if I end up homeless or without money or friends, etc.

I actually got a pair or expensive headset this year, they cost about £80, luckily I didn't went for the ones that are more high priced ones that are priced over £100. But the ones you are talking about are probably more expensive than mine XD

Yeah, I hope it gets better, probably not. I leave school in June 2017. And I gotta go to a college, but with the problems I am having, it's tough. Oh well, I gotta man up.

I wanted to suicide many times, I was left alone to think about it too much.

At first I wanted Skullcandy Crusher, but the pair I got doesn't work so I had to return it. Now I don't even want new one's because it's so stressful trying to find another affordable pair when no one sells them.

I don't even plan on college :/

It's odd how I met some of these people. One of my friends I met on here I met because I reviewed his song in the r4r thread. After that we kind of just started talking regularly.
Then again, one of my longest online friends I've had we met by accident. I mistook her for someone else because I thought she was apart of this club I wanted to join. 3 years later we're still talking regularly.

That's pretty interesting. Do you make friends relatively easily? You seem like the type of person who would -- easy going, helpful -- that's what I was getting at when I said you're different from a lot of the other people I've met. You're not uptight or an asshole, hahah.

I... don't really know. I guess I just make friends without thinking about it. In real life it's a different story. I'm probably the most anti-social person at my school. It took me a couple weeks before I was even comfortable approaching people.

Eh.. not always. From 2014 to early 2016 I was actually quite depressed and I was pretty uptight. Even when I first came here I was a jerk to people who were actually trying to help. I've changed a lot though.

Well, it's good to hear you're growing as a person. If you need help, especially regarding that depression bit, I'm here. I've been through... let's just say a lot. I've been there, through suicide, through the other side, and back, so if you need someone to talk to, you're not gonna scare me off or make me feel sorry for ya. I know most of us actually depressed people actually feel worse when that happens, hahah. Just keep working at it though. You may find it's easier to approach people online if you keep practicing it, and gradually that translates into in person, or you might not. Life is strange. You never know.
