Lol that melody sounds like Christmas. The start of it wasn't bad, I felt the melody got off sync when the drums kicked in though. The wubs (?) were pretty good as well, but it felt random. I assumed you used Serum? Nice placement on the drums as well. Overall it's pretty good.

larrynachos responds:

The realization that the song is dnb is jarring, but that was intended. I didn't use serum, the wubs were constructed in harmor.

Thanks for the review!

Forgive me if I mess up since I know nothing about this genre (except for Pounce which was a cross between this genre and glitch hop).
The song ended a weird note, with the way this was constructed you could've liked 10 seconds as it went into a silence. At times the instruments clashed too much such as 0:50 - 0:58, but it makes the track feel more full so there's not much to criticize on that. Other than that the song was pretty good. Keep doing what you're doing.

BjornIdentity responds:

Yeah, I may have gone crazy on the clav, lol. It was suppose to loop, can't figure that out yet >_<
Thanks for listening!

The mix was way too loud, but this is pretty intense otherwise.

Also, may I ask, how is it possible to make something like this in a day?

hopeku responds:

Practice! :)

Ah, use of PoiZone I see. That was my main synth usage until I found it easier to work with the more complex synth VST's.
The song is rather short (most ambient loops are under 10 seconds and I don't understand why), this could actually be evolved into a song if you add some drums, make it longer, and keep the variation flavorful.
The only problem is the overall harshness of the track, it definitely seems a bit too much.

GreekAlphaBeta responds:

Thank you :-)

I actually used Sytrus, it's the 3o3ish preset.

The drop was very eh but the mix was pretty nice.

Xaniros responds:

thanks dude
and yeah i think so too, but this is one of my older tracks. check out the newer ones

Ayyy we meet again. Figured I would review this since it's popular.
So first thing is the build-up. The drums didn't match with the build up. It just stopped randomly instead of doing a normal build up of every 3rd step, every other step, and every step. But as you said, your weak point is percussion. The drop was actually pretty good. Seemed more like melodic dubstep than typical. It didn't have too much nod towards Sine Wavs, so it's more of an original track than a remix.

Tennon responds:

0 star?

The melody at the beginning seemed a bit out of tempo. Like it would go fast, slow, fast, slow. That climax was just beautiful though. I really need to start listening to Cinematic more.
The transition from 2:59-3:00 seemed a bit odd, and it ended on an odd note. Other than that, this is really good.

MysteriousPresence responds:

Hey thanks for the review friend ! =)
Honestly I don't think it sounds too weird ! X) Well that's how the melody is made after all !
Yeah, the strings come way too abruptly! X)
Thanks again and glad you liked it ! :)

The piano had a really good melody. How did you compose it? I haven't found a good piano yet for my audio. If you don't use FL Studio then nevermind.
Was there supposed to be a silence at 0:25? It sounds really glitchy. Also, the drums started to get really off-pattern after 0:40. One of the things I suggest also is to use different drums instead of the 4 basic ones. There's different variations of kicks, claps, drums, and snares that would be perfect for this track. I'd be a hypocrite though if I said I didn't do the same however.

EiGiBeast responds:

I usually try humming different things and then when I have something I like I either record myself humming it or right away punch it into FL studio. I try to focus on a strong melody in these type of things so I can build it up when assigning it to different instruments so I start with just plain fl keys and default drums.

You are right about the drums sounding a little glitchy. The brakes are a little too long and my attempts to create a triplet type thingy did not go very well. I will take the different drums into more consideration when creating the final piece.

Thank you very much for your review. It was super helpful and it is always good to have a second pair of ears on this types of things.

I got a headache with that first part, tone down the notes a bit. The piano was pretty amazing, but the 4th part of the drum on your pattern was off place. The silence was a bit random, and almost too extended. Other than that I think the song is pretty well put together. It gives me more vibes of Trance than Video Game though.

BlastBeats responds:

Everything you said was something I didn't expect to hear. Very interesting, it gave me a whole other look on my song. I just don’t know everything one should pay attention to when making music, and this is new for me. It actually is video game music, since I compose for Lost Cosmonauts, which is a space game (that’s also the reason for that whistle).
Thanks for this review, you really learned me some useful stuff :D

Obviously it's a good song if it has like 14x more listens than all the other featured stuff lol. I also love how you communicate with all your reviewers, not something every artist on here does.
I also agree it is a pretty happy track, the claps were pretty well placed. May I asked what you used to make the main synth?

SpeTheof responds:

Thanks for the kind words, the main synth is basically a lead from nexus' dance leads and another layer of a saw synth with LFO made in harmless

Some dubstephile who tries his hand at making his own. I also help out reporting stolen stuff to the Audio Portal Cleanup thread. Hablo español. Pero, no soy perfecto.
